Electric brakes -

*B.T. = Static braking torque (N.m)

The “AC” series of spring-loaded electro-magnetic brakes work on alternating current. Its main features are:

very strong structure, silent when activated and working,

economical due to the simplicity of the brake unit assembly,

good heat dissipation via the structure made of die-cast aluminium, and via the electric motor’s fan.

the coil of the electro-magnet is completely bound using epoxy resin, insulation class “F”..

Operation:

the brake is designed to ensure intrinsic safety when at rest and by means of the torque spring.

When the electromagnet is activated the anchor is attracted to it, applying pressure to the torque springs. This allows the disc, coupled to the mechanical shaft by means of the toothed hub, to rotate freely. If the power should fail, since the magnetic field is not longer available, the torque springs push the anchor against the disc, braking the shaft. The braking torque can be adjusted by turning the screws.

Power supply: 230/450 V. A.C.

N.B. the “AC” series of brakes conforms to the following directives: 89/336 CEE, 92/31 CEE, 93/69 CEE.

The manual release lever is only supplied on request.
